Growing Up in Hawaii Carissa Moore was born on a summer day in 1992. Growing up in the Hawaiian Islands, she had constant exposure to surf culture. Her father, Chris Moore, introduced her to surfing at an early stage of childhood. Together they spent many mornings at the beach. These early experiences helped develop her technique. By the time sh
